Over the years, a plethora of horror games have been produced. During the 80's, however, a number of video game companies aimed to capitalize on the success of several horror franchises. This resulted in several (often terrible) games based on horror movies getting released throughout the 80's. The games I've included here meet the following criteria: they were released sometime in the 80's AND they were based on a film or a film series which had at least one film made in the 80's (e.g., the "Jaws" series saw "Jaws: The Revenge" getting released and so I've included "Jaws: The Game").
